"Among Americans, The Salvation Army has long been a symbol of wholehearted dedication to the cause of human brotherhood... Their work as been a constant reminder to us all that each of us is neighbor and kin to all Americans, giving freely of themselves, the men and women of The Salvation Army have won respect of us all." —President Dwight D. Eisenhower
From May 15-21, 2017, The Salvation Army will be shining a spotlight on those who make their work serving the most vulnerable possible—their army of dedicated volunteers, their generous donors, and their clients, including more than 500,000 families and individuals assisted annually in the Bay Area. Whether offering a warm nourishing meal to a senior or providing a safe, caring environment in the heart of the Tenderloin for underserved children, the Army could not serve San Franciscans in need without the community's continued kindness and support.
The Salvation Army is by far the most effective organization in the United States. No one comes close to it in respect to clarity of mission, ability to innovate, measurable results, dedication, and putting money to maximum use."
—Peter Drucker, Author & Management Expert renowned as "the founder of modern management."

We could not serve over 500,000 Bay Area families and individuals each year without the kindness and support of our countless compassionate volunteers. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
We are blessed with generous donors who join us in our mission of Doing the Most Good for San Franciscans in need. Each holiday season, one such donor Dig Deep SF raises hundreds of thousands of dollars to purchase new toys and tech gadgets for The Salvation Army to distribute to thousands of underserved San Francisco children and teens.
Our clients inspire us with their courage and graciousness. From seniors who enjoy our Meals that Heal deliveries, and children who thrive with sports, arts, and music classes at the Kroc Center, to Marty—a single dad in recovery doing an outstanding job raising his son and rebuilding his career at Harbor House: Don't miss Marty's video story here.
